10 DUMB WWE Face Turns (We Didn't Want To Admit Were GENIUS!)

6. The Miz (2023)

GUNTHER's reign as Intercontinental Champion may never be topped. Hell, it might never be matched, never mind bettered. The stoic Austrian was all business as he laughed off challenges from all comers, including ex-WWE Champs like The Miz. Peeved, Miz mixed in some fan-pleasing impassioned rants about tearing GUNTHER down.

Few thought Miz going babyface was a good idea, because all other attempts to make the man likeable had fallen flatter than a Flair flop (maybe with the exception of his 2019 run opposite Shane McMahon, but that had more to do with Shane being unlikeable than anything else). Intrigued, WWE pressed ahead.

They were right to do so.

The Miz's longevity as a WWE talent definitely helped here. Fans were finally willing to accept him in the baby role, and the mini-feud with Imperium's leader led to Miz reuniting with R-Truth as the Awesome Truth tag-team. That was a cracking follow up. He's turned heel again since, but the fleeting face run was good clean fun and came at the right time.
