10 Dumbest Match Finishes In Modern Wrestling History

8. The Creed Brothers Vs. Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs - NXT, December 7, 2021

There's often a reason why somebody "hadn't thought of this before", and that reason is "because it's f*cking stupid".

Dumb people - i.e. those who write NXT 2.0 - often fail to consider why something is a bad idea. They just do something, self-satisfied with their unique creative genius, and put it on TV. It's maddening, but also very funny.

On the December 7, 2021 episode of NXT, the Creed Brothers faced Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs. Being a Brooks and Jensen match, it was basically a Smoking Gunns match worked at 1.5 speed. It was nothing particularly memorable, or even awful, until the finish. In parallel, before they were revamped as spooky disciples of "woke virtue signaller" parody Joe Gacy - this show is phenomenally bad - the men formerly known as the Grizzled Young Veterans were playing a different role. Because you're too thick to get heel tag team psychology, it was explained to you by way of analogy. If they can fool an UberEats driver into giving them food for free, they can deceive a referee!

Towards the end of the match, James Drake, having learned the art of tag team psychology after reigning with the NXT UK Tag titles for 231 days, was revealed to have cut the tag rope, meaning Briggs could not legally tag in. Instead of disqualifying the Creeds, the ref actually prevented Briggs from entering the ring.

Josh Briggs was penalised for being cheated.
