10 Dumbest Storylines Of WWE's PG Era

8. Embrace The Hate

Kane took a hiatus from WWE in the summer of 2011, following an attack from Mark Henry. When he returned in December, though, it was clear he wasn't the same man -- Kane was now a heel, as proven by his targeting of John Cena, and he had re-donned his infamous mask. Unfortunately, though, it wasn't the same mask -- this one had a mouth hole, allowing the "Devil's Favorite Demon" to continue to speak. Every week, Kane would cut promos on Cena, trying to get him to "embrace the hate" -- to give in to his deep seated ill-will and finally turn heel. He would also attack Cena (and other grapplers) every chance he got, playing the role of a movie monster and "burking" them (a particular smothering technique) after every beatdown. Still, Cena maintained his valor -- which fans had no interest in seeing. Of course, they also had no interest in Kane. They were caught between a rock and a hard place. Cena would defeat Kane at the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View, ending their feud. As of today, he has yet to embrace the hate.
