10 Dumbest Things WCW Did To Sting

5. Lumberjacks With Casts Match

That wasn€™t a joke headline. There was really a thing called a Lumberjacks with Casts Match. Sting took on Lex Luger in the match that would bookend their storied friendship and rivalry that spanned over ten years. In 2000, WCW was hitting its stride of booking outlandish stipulation matches. We saw everything from Buff Bagwell€™s mom in a Judy Bagwell on a Pole Match to a Viagra on a Pole Match.

Lumberjacks with Casts fit right in. After Luger and Miss Elizabeth betrayed Sting at Starrcade €™99, The Total Package went on a tear, breaking the arms of several WCW stars. Come Uncensored 2000, the showdown between the returning Stinger and The Total Package was set. To make things tough on both men, the ring was surrounded by the cast-wearing men whose arms Luger had broken and a few he hand-picked to have his back: Jimmy Hart, Mr. Perfect, Brian Knobs, Fit Finlay, WCW Head of Security Doug Dillinger, The Harris Brothers, Stevie Ray, Ahmed Johnson, Hugh Morris, and Vampiro.

The match was not only a dud, but it was overbooked to comical proportions. Former UFC fighter Tank Abbott walked out to punch the 60 year-old Doug Dillinger, the Lumberjacks brawled to the back, Ric Flair showed up, Miss Elizabeth interfered, Jimmy Hart threatened to hit her with Hulk Hogan'€™s workout belt, and Vampiro cracked Luger with a baseball bat.

WCW was out of business a year later almost to the day.
