10 Early Contenders To Win WWE Money In The Bank 2017

6. Sami Zayn

It’s hard to know what to make of Sami Zayn’s move to SmackDown. While it should theoretically result in a long overdue push, he’ll always play third fiddle to AJ Styles and Randy Orton in the brand’s babyface ranks. The fact that Baron Corbin is his first feud suggests that his Tuesday night role could be much the same as before, with the popular underdog existing primarily to put the show’s major heels over.

It’d be a shame to see Sami’s SD career go the same way as his Raw run. He remains one of the most popular wrestlers in the company. His crowd reactions are noticeably quieter than they were a year ago, however, and if WWE are going to do something with him, they must act fast.

Even if he loses to Corbin, Zayn, if he enters, will likely be among the favourites to win Money In The Bank. He’s one of the best wrestlers around, and his fans are mostly correct when they say he deserves a main event push. Being Mr. Money In The Bank usually suits a heel more than a face, but few would complain if WWE gave that honour to their most naturally likeable male wrestler.
