10 Ex-WWE Superstars With Unfinished Business
1. CM Punk
What Happened: You may have heard about this one. Arguably the most controversial WWE exit since the Montreal Screwjob (but perhaps slightly outdone by the whole Hogan being a racist thing), Punk walked out on the company as last year's Wrestlemania season got underway, lifting the lid on the explosive situation in a jaw-dropping podcast with Colt Cabana a few months later that pretty much got the entire internet on his side.
Still, the fact is that despite having the longest WWE Title reign of the modern era, Punk was never truly treated like The Man during his run, and the fact that he never won a Royal Rumble or properly headlined a Wrestlemania is insane. INSANE, WE SAY!
How To Book A Return: With his UFC commitments and, like, hating the company's guts and stuff, it's fair to say Punk won't be back any time soon, so allow us to pose this at 2017 and beyond. Punk makes a shock return at a Royal Rumble, winning it and then starting Raw the next night, microphone in hand, with the simple line: "My name is CM Punk, and I've got something to say."
Cue a monster pipebomb that clears everything up and set the agenda, Triple H trying (and failing) to screw him out of his Wrestlemania title match and him then going on to win the title at Mania, before feuding with a bitter heel Reigns angry at him 'doing a Batista' and therefore the very thing he raged against. Cool, right?
