1. Seth Rollins Was A Real-Life Plan B
Vince McMahon liked the thought of Roman Reigns ending ‘Mania 31 as new champ, but everyone realised fans were rejecting the new pet project after the Rumble. So, creative crafted a contingency plan: Seth Rollins would cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase and shocked the world right at the end of the show.
It was a backup plan and nothing else come the day of WrestleMania. In Vince's mind, Roman was still going to tower above everyone else at the end. Then, during The Rock's segment with Ronda Rousey midway through the show, officials hauled Seth, Roman, Brock Lesnar and several others into a room backstage and told them the news.
Rollins would be cashing in after all. How exciting.
It'd be a career-defining moment for Seth, but it came very late in the day. He'd already wrestled Randy Orton in the baking hot California sun in match two (four if you include the pre-show) on the card, and had probs hit the showers when WWE told him he'd be winning the top title in less than two hours.
