10 Fascinating WWE WrestleMania 32 Facts
3. The Undertaker Vs. Shane McMahon Apparently Spiked Ticket Sales
The Undertaker/Shane McMahon storyline made about as much sense as snow boots at the equator. However, WrestleMania 32 was in need of a boost, and McMahon's shocking return to WWE in February 2016 was the talk of the wrestling world. Though his hasty connection to Undertaker in the convoluted control-of-Raw story led to some head-scratching, it apparently began moving the chains for ticket sales.
As of early February 2016, ticket sales were at about 60,000, well short of their final attendance, let alone WWE's stated attendance. Many WrestleManias have sold out on the first day tickets were made available, and WrestleMania 32 was having no such good fortune.
According to Dave Meltzer, after the Shane/Undertaker match was made official, tickets began moving much faster. Coincidence? A hot angle on Monday Night Raw, thanks in part to a positively-molten crowd in Detroit, appears to be the jump-start WWE had been looking for.
