10 Fights To Make After UFC 251
8. Alexander Volkanovksi
Should Fight: The Winner of Yair/Zhabit
Volkanovski squeezed a win from the former champ Holloway yet again, and established the Blessed era was over. It's a shame the consensus in the industry seems to be it was a robbery, but Volkanovski showed a lot of heart by rebounding from two poor opening rounds to gain the comeback win.
It was also the first time we've seen Alexander 'The Great' show a hint of weakness in the Octagon, and future challenges are sure to exploit what they've seen 'Blessed' show as chinks in his armor.
The featherweight showdown between Zabit Magomedsharipov and Yair Rodriguez on August 29th is the perfect fight to establish the number one contender. They are two people in the Featherweight top five with win-streaks that Holloway hasn't already destroyed during his own reign.
While Dana White pointed towards a bout between Brian Ortega and Korean Zombie being the fight to decide who'll fight for the title next, Zombie got KOed cold by Yair in 2018 and Ortega hasn't fought in two years since his own title fight loss to Holloway.
Whoever is victorious between Yair and Zabit, it will leave a fantastic match-up for Alexander's first title defense against someone who isn't 'Blessed'.
