10 Genius Ways Wrestlers Outsmarted Their Opponents
8. Eddie Guerrero – WrestleMania XX
Eddie Guerrero was a legendary performer who often looked at the confinements of a match and looked to see what he could do that hadn’t been executed before. This was spectacularly shown at WrestleMania XX when he squared up against the wrestling machine Kurt Angle to defend his newly won WWE Championship in a thrilling bout.
They both tried to outmanoeuvre each other all the way through the match. Its conclusion came when Angle got the upper hand and viciously locked in the Ankle Lock on Guerrero. Guerrero managed to escape it by rolling out of it and throwing Angle out of the ring simultaneously. As Angle caught his bearings on the outside Guerrero tactically loosened his ring boot.
Angle came back in the ring and immediately reapplied the Ankle Lock but Guerrero managed to kick him off, with Angle confused holding on to Guerrero’s ring boot. Angle then rushed at Guerrero but Eddie rolled him up in a perfect small package for the 1-2-3. Eddie quickly exited the ring cheekily holding the WWE Championship high above his head as Angle remained in the ring screaming and still holding Eddie’s boot in his hands.
