7. The Ultimate Warrior VS Randy Savage (WrestleMania 7)
WWE.comWhile the match often gets discussed because of the post-match happenings with Queen Sherri and Miss Elizabeth, the match itself is often overlooked, unfortunately. Most people feel that this is the best match of Warrior's career, and proof positive of how much of a ring general Savage was. It was a Retirement Match, so there was plenty of intrigue and great storytelling going on, as both men fought for their careers, but Savage and Warrior stepped their game up big-time. The intensity was great, and every move looked like it meant something. Warrior even switched his in-ring style up a bit, often going for a more methodical, paced attack instead of his usual frantic offense. The most memorable spots of the match was the finisher exchange that saw Savage hit
five top-rope elbow drops, but Warrior kicking out at two, and then Warrior hitting his Gorilla Press and splash combo, only for Savage to kick out at two. Looking back, this moment led many to feel that Savage was being "buried", especially when he would go on to lose the match, since they had his normally dominant finisher hit five times and still be unsuccessful, but it was more of the company putting Warrior over huge than anything else. Just an entertaining match, better than it had any right to be.
