10 Great Wrestlers (With Terrible WrestleMania Records)

4. Ric Flair (1-4)

Much like Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair's poor record takes nothing away from his stand-out performances at the Show of Shows.

The Nature Boy can proudly claim to have never had a bad match at WrestleMania. Which is pretty incredible, considering four of his five matches took place when he was over 50 years old. His street fight against the Undertaker was messy but enjoyable, Evolution vs. The Rock 'n' Sock Connection was an entertaining farewell to the Attitude Era, and Flair put in an admirably gutsy performance in the sole Money in the Bank match of his career.

However, it's the matches that bookended Flair's WrestleMania appearances that underline his reputation as the GOAT.

Flair's bout against the Randy Savage still holds up nearly thirty years later, as the pair have the crowd eating out of the palms of their hands for the duration of the match. The roar that accompanies Savage's victory has to be heard to be believed, and is testament to the work put in by both wrestlers.

However, even that classic pales in comparison to the Nature Boy's retirement match at WrestleMania 24. Sixteen years after his first appearance on the Grandest Stage of Them All, Flair broke the hearts of wrestling fans everywhere with a beautiful epic that acted as the perfect swansong to the greatest career in professional wrestling history.

(At least, it should have done...)
