10 Great Wrestling Performances (That Nobody Ever Talks About)
4. Emma - Vs Asuka (TakeOver: London)
If you need a refresher on precisely why NXT fans were tentatively excited about the prospect of the now-Tenille Dashwood returning to the main roster in 2015, we give you Emma's insanely underrated showdown with The Empress of Tomorrow at 2015's TakeOver: London.
It must be said that in the lead-up to this clash, Emma had become something of a jobber to the next generation of rising stars on NXT, falling to the likes of Bayley, Carmella, and Charlotte Flair on the brand. But that still didn't stop her from putting in a remarkable shift in what was only the second TakeOver match of Asuka's WWE career at that point.
Holding absolutely nothing back over the course of this consistently brutal battle, Emma connected with intense dropkicks, launched her rival into next week with catastrophic Irish whips, and even found time to execute some devious heel offence in the form of some heat-seeking slaps to the face. Knowing the job she was there to do though, Emma also made Asuka look like a million bucks, selling the newcomer's spinning heel kick to the face like she'd just been sledgehammered in the skull.
