Few feuds in recent WWE history have been as long-running or all-consuming as the one between Shawn Michaels and Triple H. "The Heartbreak Kid" returned to action in 2002 following a four-year layoff, but he was immediately betrayed by his best friend. Michaels won their bout at SummerSlam, but little was settled.

Flash forward over a year, and Triple H was once again the dominant World Heavyweight Champion on Raw. During a brief tenure as co-GM of the show, Mick Foley booked Shawn Michaels in a title match on the very last episode of the year, and it was a doozy.

During the course of the half-hour-long match, both men fought their hardest. The San Antonio crowd was firmly behind Michaels, who didn't disappoint - "The Heartbreak Kid" managed to avoid the Pedigree, and even kicked out of a shot from the title belt. Michaels finally hit Sweet Chin Music out of desperation, then collapsed on "The Game" and seemingly scored the win.

Upon further review, though, it was revealed that both men's shoulders were down. In light of the draw, the title remained with the champion.
