10 Great WWE SummerSlam Matches You've Forgotten About

On paper, a match between a 57-year-old Ric Flair and a beaten-up Mick Foley, who had wrestled only sporadically since retiring five years earlier, had no business being great - and yet it pretty much stole the show at SummerSlam 2006.

Granted, it was less an exhibition of high-flying athleticism than it was a master-class in patient psychology, with some heavy weapon shots thrown in for good measure (well, it was an "I Quit" match, after all).

The idea was that Foley, who had been cruelly described by the Nature Boy as a "glorified stuntman" in the build-up, wanted to take his opponent places he had never been.

In the end, he threw in the towel - fearing that Flair was about to introduce an interfering Melina to his own trusted barbed wire bat - but much of the match really was brutal and, if you can stomach it, well worth another look.
