10 Greatest Comebacks In UFC History

1. Brock Lesnar Vs. Shane Carwin - UFC 116

Mixed martial arts is already one of the craziest sports ever conceived, but it only gets more insane when heavyweights are involved. Unlike the other weight classes in the sport, the big guys only need one punch to completely turn the tide of a fight - as we found out with Todd Duffee and Mike Russow. However, what happens when the person throwing those punches runs out of gas?

We found out when Shane Carwin took on Brock Lesnar for his heavyweight title at UFC 116. Prior to their match-up, the Grudge Training Centre product had won 12 of his fights, with eight of those victories coming via some form of knockout. Which is why it made sense for him to rush Lesnar and hit him with everything he had early on

Carwin punished the champion for five minutes with some of the nastiest ground and pound you'll ever see. Most fighters would've been put away or struggled to make it to the second round. However, Lesnar withstood the attack and came out in the second with a new game-plan. Instead of standing with Carwin, he took his visibly exhausted opponent down and locked in a fight-ending arm triangle choke submission to come back from the brink of defeat and retain his title.
