To many, myself included, Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan is the greatest manager in the history of the sport. For those of us who grew up in the late 80s and early 90s Heenan was a constant thorn in the side of the good guys, whether it was his stable of fierce competitors or throwing shade at them from the commentary booth.

His partnership with Andre the Giant is perhaps more memorable, and arguments for Heenan featuring in this list with other wrestlers ('Ravishing' Rick Rude, Nick Bockwinkel, Paul Orndorff and more) could certainly be made.

For me, it was his partnership with 'Mr. Perfect' Curt Hennig that allowed him to shine the brightest.

Not only that, but Heenan also did a great job in getting Hennig over as a serious heel in the WWF. The two complimented each other marvellously. Heenan was the perfect mix of legitimacy and comedy, and it was clear as a viewer why the two would work together.

They also had great chemistry, which lead to a whole host of entertaining segments and interviews. The Heenan Family was an integral part of WWF in the late 80s and early 90s, and Mr. Perfect was arguably the strongest link.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
