10 Greatest Superstars In WWE SummerSlam History
2. Brock Lesnar
Five months into his WWE career, Brock Lesnar flattened The Rock with an F-5 and pinned him to capture the Undisputed Championship at SummerSlam 2002. The win was the culmination of the most rapid ascent in company history and an announcement to the wrestling world that Lesnar was no longer 'The Next Big Thing', he was the big thing.
A loss to Kurt Angle the following year would spell the end for Lesnar's initial SummerSlam run. Constant travel and personal appearances made life as a WWE Superstar unbearable for the industry giant so in 2004, he waved goodbye and appeared unlikely to ever return.
After years of establishing himself as the biggest box office attraction and pay-per-view draw thanks to a heavyweight stint in UFC, Lesnar returned to WWE and set his sights on smashing a new crop of superstars.
Triple H was first, enduring a broken arm courtesy of 'The Beast Incarnate's Kimura armbar. The following year, Lesnar fended off a valiant effort from CM Punk in a Match of the Year candidate.
It was in 2014, though, that Lesnar cemented his status as one of the greatest competitors in event history when he obliterated John Cena and took the WWE World Heavyweight Championship away from him in dominant fashion.
