10 Greatest Wrestling Brawlers Of All Time

4. Terry Funk

Anyone who was used to watching Terry Funk's work in NWA as a mat technician à la Ric Flair was probably flabbergasted to watch him blossom into a hardcore legend in ECW. No one else on this list has evolved - or devolved, depending on your viewpoint - like Funk.

After listening to his body and feeling the wear and tear of his traditional wrestling take its toll, Funk fully embraced his role as the "crazy old brawler." And boy did that work out well.

Funk became a clobbering whirling dervish later in his career, which only bolstered his legacy in the eyes of fans who grew accustomed to that kind of hardcore style during the Attitude Era. His matches with and against Cactus Jack under his Chainsaw Charlie gimmick remain some of the most underrated brawls the WWE ever allowed on television.

To put it bluntly, Funk turned into a f**king lunatic in the ring once he hit 50-years-old, and the fact that he was able to continue causing a ruckus in the industry well into his 60s is further proof that age doesn't always take the steam out of a guy's engine. In fact, sometimes it fuels it.
