10 Greatest WWE Catchphrases You Need To Hear

6. You're Fired!

In the late nineties, Vince McMahon was the villain that the WWF needed. His real-life involvement in the Montreal Screwjob made him one of the most hated men in wrestling, and he doubled down on that with his infamous €œBret Screwed Bret€ interview. Over the years his villainous antics turned cartoonish, to the point that the record books show a Vince McMahon victory over God. One of the ways that McMahon most loved to abuse his power was the over the top firings of anyone who got in his way. Over time, Vince McMahon€™s €œYOU€™RE FIRED€ evolved from a simple statement to a demonic death rattle. The list of people Vince has fired is enough to fill a phone book, but includes notable names such as Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Eric Bischoff, Paul Heyman and everyone€™s favourite Executive Vice President of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis. Depending on how the main event of Survivor Series turns out, we may hear those words once again very soon. The phrase was popularised by Vince McMahon€™s close and personal friend, Donald Trump, on Trump€™s television show The Apprentice. The two actually clashed (via proxies) at WrestleMania XXIII, and it ended with McMahon having his head shaved bald by Trump. In 2009, Trump bought Monday Night Raw, but Vince McMahon quickly bought it back, giving The Genetic Jackhammer an opportunity to tell his long-time frenemy €œYou€™re Fired!€ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNX_wGyKhmM
