10 Greatest WWE Feuds Of The 90's
7. Randy Savage vs. Jake Roberts

Insulting a man's reputation and questioning his legacy can be a powerful tool of manipulation. Threatening his wife can be even more powerful, which is something "The Snake" Roberts found out all too well.
Following a heel turn that revitalized Roberts' character, he set his sights on commentator Randy Savage, who had recently stepped out of the ring following a Retirement match loss to Ultimate Warrior and a grand reunion with Elizabeth at WrestleMania VII. Unwilling to let the former WWE and Intercontinental champion have his storybook ending, Roberts goaded Savage on a weekly basis, leading to an appalling scene in which Savage was bitten on the arm by a very real cobra. That was all the motivation the Macho Man needed to return to the ring and at This Tuesday in Texas in November 1991, he defeated Roberts in a heated bout. It was "the Snake's" actions after the bout that led to the intensification of the feud.
Roberts slapped Elizabeth to the ground in one of the most jaw dropping, disgusting acts in WWE history. The innocent wife of Savage had been disgraced and Randy would not stand by and let Roberts' actions go unpunished. Whether it was in the 1992 Royal Rumble match or at house shows across the country, Savage unleashed his fury on his rival, ultimately winning the feud and setting his sights on Ric Flair and the WWE title.
