Randy Orton and Rusev's two high profile encounters lasting less than 20 seconds cumulatively has been WWE's unsung success story of 2017.

What's not to love? Victory on SmackDown Live! for the 'Bulgarian Brute' gifted the world 'Rusev Day', and Orton's SummerSlam win a fortnight prior was a pleasing palette cleanser in between six hours's worth of disappointing and disjointed courses that left most viewers as uncomfortably bloated as the six-hour supershow itself.

Frankly, the two can...sigh...'Fight Forever' (clap clap clapclapclap) if each battle barely troubles 15 seconds. Fifty-fifty booking is actually preferable for Rusev having previously gone about zero and a hundred against John Cena following his return from injury, and it'll be fascinating to see how Randy incorporates a chinlock AND a match-winning RKO into the tighter timeframe.

Regrettably, they'll probably a generic ten minute match instead, earning more than both the wrestlers and the audience need and want. Randy Orton will inevitably pick up the victory too. If the rumours are true, Rusev will sadly depart the company sooner rather than later, marking yet another failed effort in preserving a talent that could have been a genuine box office difference-maker.
