10 HUGE WWE SummerSlam 2021 Predictions You Need To Know

3. Bobby Lashley (c) Vs. Goldberg

WWE had about a month to drop a hook into the ostensible semi-main event of SummerSlam and first-time battle between Bobby Lashley and Bill Goldberg. That, with just six days to go, they went down the route of Hero Bill doing it for his kid (again) exposed that they never really managed to think of a good one.

A number of difficulties have arisen for trying to get the best out of Goldberg in 2021. His 2020 matches against The Fiend and Braun Strowman were so thoroughly uninspiring that they could neither recover the 2019 disaster against The Undertaker nor stop a fun Dolph Ziggler squash looking like a big-bumping abbaration.

Bobby Lashley is many things, but explosive isn't one of them unless the programme finds away to unlock some believable fire and emotion. There might be a minor semblance of it on the night, but will his inevitable win really do anything for his tepid Raw form on the other side? The whole thing's been a miss without a swing, other than the one that denoted a supposed masterplan by MVP and Lashley on the go-home Raw. With any luck, the match won't have much more thought put into than that either.

Winner - Bobby Lashley
