10 Incredible Stories Behind Famous Wrestling Themes

6. Fandango Nearly Hits UK Top 40

It may be difficult to imagine now, but in 2013, Fandango's music very nearly cracked into the UK Top 40, charting just behind other singles competing for the honour. It was a bizarre time, when wrestling audiences around the world randomly started singing the theme, making hand gestures along with the music and seemingly going daft for the tune.

WWE tried to capitalise on this new found popularity, but it quickly became clear that fans weren't quite as enthused by Fandango the wrestler as they were by his entrance music. A mid-card heel at best, the dancing fool has struggled since, but for the most brief of moments a few years ago, he was a name on everyone's lips.

The night after WrestleMania XXIX, fans on Monday Night Raw gave the guy a huge reception, and repeatedly danced and sang his entrance theme throughout the entire show. It made for quite the strange visual, and is quite odd to go back and watch now, knowing how quickly Fandango's star would fade.
