8. Andrade Dominates Lucha Underground
Andrade El Idolo, formerly known as Andrade Cien Almas and La Sombra before that, is a phenomenal professional wrestler. That said, things just don't seem to click for him in American wrestling, as he has now suffered from lukewarm runs in both WWE and AEW.
What makes this all the more tragic is that there was a promotion, a brilliant promotion, that he undoubtedly would have thrived in. Unfortunately, Lucha Underground closed its doors in 2018 while Andrade was still contracted to WWE.
This unique company was full of great talent and wowed audiences with its cinematic presentation, which said goodbye to kayfabe and played into pure film-based storytelling. Hell, Andrade already looks like a movie star, so he would have fit like a glove.
Even names like Ezekiel Jackson and Jake Hager managed to find success there, so imagine what El Idolo could have done! The company could have built itself around his in-ring skills, star power, and charisma.
This would have been a chance for Andrade to see himself as a promotion's top player.
