5. Drag NXT Into The Brand-To-Brand Invitation Angle

Have they not already done this anyway?

Charlotte Flair's victory over Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania was a soft launch of the recently-introduced Brand-To-Brand Invitation idea, with the new NXT Women's Champion apparently free to roam all three shows with the belt once only associated with Wednesday Nights.

The formal kickoff was of course led by a ratings-tanking appearance by King Corbin on Monday Night Raw, but AJ Styles' placement in SmackDown's Intercontinental Title tournament has sort of f*cked the whole thing a bit anyway. Itt was nothing like the Wild Card after all - they took days to contract this one, rather minutes.

But back to the rest of NXT. It's suffered something of a slump in 2020, struggling to regain the terrific momentum built at the back end of the prior year. Roster moves are no longer "call-ups", but the roster risk becoming marginalised by that term again if they continue to lose the ratings war on Wednesday nights. There's precedent for the consequences of this being dire for the Full Sail regulars, but cross-promotion of this nature could well help the numbers, if not the talent themselves.
