Drew McIntyre's WWE Championship reigns during the pandemic were bizarre.

First, he randomly lost the title to Randy Orton, just to win it back a few weeks later. Then he was dethroned again one month before WrestleMania in the most painful of circumstances.

When The Miz cashed-in his Money in the Bank contract and won the belt, it was a real gut punch to fans who knew the Scottish lad was a month away from finally getting to stand in front of a real crowd as the face of the company. For a hot second it seemed like McIntyre-Miz was on the cards for 'Mania. The A-Lister had been sniffing around the main event scene for a few months; perhaps it was time he was rewarded for going one of the most consistent stars in the business, even it was just so he could be fed to Drew a month later.

Nope. The Miz dropped the gold to Bobby Lashley, who'd helped him win it in the first place.

But it was all so fans could finally cheer Drew winning the gold, right?

Wrong.

After rained stopped play in Tampa, McIntyre finally entered the ring with Lashley and lost.

When I'm not trying my hardest to visit all 50 U.S. states, I'm listening to music from the 80s, watching TV from the 90s, and reminiscing about growing up in the 00s. I'm currently living in Melbourne, Australia so WWE premium live events are on Sunday afternoons for me; the absolute dream.
