7. Ricochet Vs. Drew McIntyre

Oh, where to start with Super ShowDown 2020...

This entry could've been what if Goldberg was the one to defeat "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt and go to WrestleMania as Universal Champion, but they actually booked that.

No, this one comes from a contest that fans were excited to see. Some of Brock Lesnar's best bouts have been against smaller wrestlers, so when Ricochet helped Drew McIntyre eliminate the Beast Incarnate from the Royal Rumble match, the WWE Universe was optimistic about a competitive match between the two.

That didn't happen.

It was a pointless squash, only slightly longer than when Brock did the same to Kofi Kingston on SmackDown three months early.

Part of building McIntyre into a new star was having him defeat Lesnar at 'Mania, but, at a time when the WWE Universe was getting sick of Lesnar, how many people would've minded Ricochet going over here? Sure, the match at the Showcase of the Immortals wouldn't have had the same star power, but in the end there wasn't an audience at WrestleMania 36 anyway.

Any dreams of this being a reality were dashed in 1:35. Ricochet was a three-count away from headlining 'Mania, but really he was a world away.

When I'm not trying my hardest to visit all 50 U.S. states, I'm listening to music from the 80s, watching TV from the 90s, and reminiscing about growing up in the 00s. I'm currently living in Melbourne, Australia so WWE premium live events are on Sunday afternoons for me; the absolute dream.
