10 Interesting Observations From Attending NXT TakeOver: Back To Brooklyn Live

1. The Matches Were Disappointing

It's a shame to have to end on a down note after a show that was so significant and so solidly-booked, but when it came to pure match quality, TakeOver: Back to Brooklyn was a step down from The End and about two steps down from TakeOver: Dallas.

Don't get me wrong, there were a lot of stars who were great on Saturday evening - Ember Moon chief amongst them, and guys like Aries, Roode, Jose, Gargano, Ciampa, and The Revival also up there. Unfortunately, there just wasn't that classic match that sticks in your memory. The Dallas show had two - Zayn-Nakamura and Revival-American Alpha. Unfortunately, even the best match on this show - the tag team match - wasn't more than very good.

Bayley and Asuka's rematch wasn't as strong as their first bout, while Nakamura's match with Joe fell short of his matches with Balor, Aries, and Zayn. In the end, the show will be remembered for Nakamura's title win, and that's okay - from a between-the-bells standpoint, though, it wasn't up to the standard NXT has set.
