4. It Runs Longer Than WrestleMania

WrestleMania 32 may have been a disappointing show, but it holds a number of distinctions - among them, the fact that it was the longest WWE show of the modern era. Between a main card that ran for a solid five hours and a kickoff show that went 90 minutes, fans were left with an astounding six-and-a-half-hour wrestling evening. Even if the main event had been good, it might have been hard to grab the crowd.

WWE realized prior to the show that since their events are airing primarily on the WWE Network, they can go as long as they want. Since then, other shows (like Money in the Bank) have also run long. SummerSlam, though, could potentially take the cake. WWE has already announced that the show begins at 7:00 PM ET, a distinction usually reserved for WrestleMania (and one that hints at a four-hour-long main card). More recently, the announcement came that the kickoff show would be an extra two hours.

That means we'll see at least six hours of show, and it could be more if the company does an overrun. WrestleMania only contained 12 matches (including The Rock versus Erick Rowan, which lasted six seconds), while SummerSlam has 13 scheduled. There's a chance the show could break a rather dubious record.
