10 Legendary MMA Bouts Where Both Fighter's Careers Never Recovered

5. UFC Fight Night 33: Mark Hunt Vs. Bigfoot Silva

Generally speaking, when heavyweights land big shots, it usually makes for a very short fight. However, that wasn't the case during the 2013 war between Mark Hunt and Antonio 'Bigfoot' Silva.

Both big men landed blows that would have incapacitated most fighters. Yet somehow, this memorable slugfest managed to go the distance and was scored a majority draw.

The fight was incredibly entertaining but took its toll on both men — particularly 'Bigfoot.'

Hunt followed up the performance with a knockout of the year win over Roy Nelson and had some solid showings after Fight Night 33. However, his 4-6 (1) record after the 'Bigfoot' fight shows a clear downward trajectory.

Silva's career would take an absolute nose dive after the contest. Following the Hunt fight, the Brazilian never came close to resembling the fighter who once beat stars like Fedor Emelianenko, Alistair Overeem, and Andrei Arlovski. A visibly diminished 'Bigfoot' has gone 1-7 since his 2013 encounter with Hunt.
