10 Legit Wrestling Injuries That Were Made Into A Storyline

5. Blue Meanie's Beatdown At One Night Stand

The One Night Stand event from June 2005 will forever go down as one of the most memorable PPVs in WWE history. Unfortunately for Brian Heffron, it's also memorable for an entirely different reason.

Heffron - better known to wrestling fans as The Blue Meanie - would find himself involved in the melee between the Raw and SmackDown "invaders" and the ECW alumni at the end of the show. However, Meanie's contribution to the brawl would see him legitimately bloodied at the hands of JBL.

While fists were flying throughout the ring, Layfield's fists were thrown a little harder than most and the Texan's punches were certainly not pulled when they met Meanie's face. Allegedly stemming from choice words made online by Meanie regarding JBL, the bWo member was left looking like the American flag by the time Bradshaw was done with him.

Ever the opportunists, WWE jumped on the heated exchange and exploited the genuine animosity right away. The three bWo members made their way to SmackDown shortly thereafter and it wouldn't be long before Meanie and JBL were booked in one-on-one competition.

The bout itself is also pretty memorable, particularly for Stevie Richards' delivery of a vicious receipt in honour of his blue brethren.
