Is it underwhelming? I guess it is, to a degree. The lightest World Wrestling Entertainment pay-per-view main event (to date) was one that I had completely forgotten about, during a fairly poor year for WWE on the whole. It involved an ageing superstar having a surprisingly entertaining last run in the shape of King Booker and another who was one of the worst-booked World Champions in history, Rey Mysterio.

Their match at The Great American Bash in 2006 saw Rey's run come to an end, as Chavo Guerrero of all people turned on his lifelong friend and allowed King Bookah to pick up the win. Rey's title reign was mercifully, sadly, depressingly over.

Rey Mysterio is far and away the lightest World Champion in WWE history at 175lbs. Booker therefore would only have to weigh 257lbs or under for the duo to top this list. Wikipedia tells me that Booker was billed as being 250lbs, and the proof is there in this particularly bland pudding.

If Balor vs. Rollins goes on last at SummerSlam, which I assume it will, it will usurp this match by an impressive 16 pounds. The top of the tree is getting lighter, that is for sure.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
