10 "Little Guys" Who Should Have Been WWE Champion

3. Mr. Perfect

For the purposes of WWE in the late 80s, Curt Hennig was nothing more than a fun-sized snack in a world of giant, one-pound candy bars.

There's a reason he remained entrenched in the race for the Intercontinental Championship, and it certainly wasn't because he didn't have the chops to compete for the top title.

No, Mr. Perfect was a bit "imperfect" in the physical department, at least when held up to the musclebound Mr. Universes of the WWE. Even though he outshone pretty much everyone else in his weight class - routinely making talented guys like Rick Martel and Tito Santana look like amateurs by comparison - Mr. Perfect wasn't able to break through the glass ceiling like Randy Savage and, later, Bret Hart.

If he'd come along at a later time, Hennig would've had no problem getting a push for the WWE Championship. For evidence of that, look no further than Kurt Angle, who was basically the Mr. Perfect of the 2000s.

He was the same size as Hennig and shared a remarkably similar in-ring style, and was able to become a 5x champion with the company.
