NXT women's division is currently in a bit of a rebuilding mode. Last year, Sasha Banks, Charlotte, and Becky were all called up to the main roster en masse, and this past summer, Nia Jax and Bayley both headed to Raw. That pretty much just left Women's Champion Asuka and newcomer Ember Moon as the major players in the division.

WWE is holding the Asuka-Moon match off (probably until next year's WrestleMania weekend) by bringing former stars back for Asuka to face, but one thing is clear - when Asuka and Moon do lock horns, it'll be amazing. At the MSG show, the two women and Sanity's Nikki Cross battled in a triple threat match, and the result was non-stop action with a ton of suplexes, submission attempts, and strikes.

Ultimately, Nikki Cross (whose contributions to the match shouldn't be overlooked) ended up taking the loss when she was pinned by Asuka. She's a great addition to the division, but Asuka and Moon are clearly the centerpieces and they showed it here.
