Much like Hogan, Ric Flair spent the time in between his World Championship matches in WWE competing in WCW - but, unlike Hogan, The Nature Boy was never able to regain the main strap in WWE after losing it at the end of his first stint. Flair still manages to be unique, however, as his final televised Championship match in the WWF actually happened before Flair had time to win and lose the title again on his way out back to WCW.

Flair's final televised WWF Championship match came on April 5, 1992 as he lost the title to 'Macho Man' Randy Savage at WrestleMania XII. Flair didn't leave the company until January 1993 and, in the nine months following 'Mania, The Alimony Pony regained the title from Savage in a dark match before losing it to Bret Hart at a live event in Canada.

Flair's next televised World Title match in WWE took place in May 2002 against (yes) Hulk Hogan in a No Disqualification match on RAW, just over a decade after his previous bout for the richest prize in the game.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
