10 Losses That Must Happen At WWE SummerSlam 2016

6. Charlotte

Rumour has it that Sasha Banks’ recent WWE Women’s Championship victory over Charlotte was originally scheduled for SummerSlam rather than Raw. As great as it would’ve been to see Sasha realise her dream on one of the year’s biggest PPVs, her win goes down as one of the most memorable Raw moments of 2016, and there’s little to suggest that this rematch won’t be fantastic.

Sasha and Charlotte have been putting on barn-burning matches since their NXT days, and Dana Brooke’s ringside ban greatly reduces the risk of shenanigans. These two are going to cap their rivalry with a highly-competitive straight-up wrestling match after months and months of back-and-forth, and it’s one of the night’s most hotly-anticipated clashes.

There’s little sense in cutting The Boss’ title reign short at this point. Sasha is the most popular woman in WWE today, and while the division isn’t as deep as it could be (until Asuka and Bayley are called-up, at least), she’s a perfect choice to act as its figurehead. Charlotte is fresh off a long, dominant spell as Divas/Women’s Champion, and as good as she is in her entitled heel role, it’s time for her to play second fiddle to Sasha Banks for a while.

The Boss has only just won the belt: a loss here would be disastrous to her momentum and the belt’s credibility, regardless of Charlotte’s obvious abilities.
