10 Loudest Crowd Reactions In UFC History

2. CM Punk Becomes UFC's Cult Of Personality (UFC 225)

The WWE has a sketchy past when it comes to the transition from pro wrestler to mixed martial artist. For every Brock Lesnar you get, well, a CM Punk.

It's not that pro wrestling isn't a physically demanding career choice - if you've ever taken a bump you'll vouch for that - it's just not quite the same as being legitimately beaten up by a highly skilled fighter.

All talk of floundering in the Octagon aside, one thing that does transition very well into the world of the UFC is the pageantry of an event.

Being a Cult of Personality in the WWE for as long as he was, Punk understood this and played up to the fans by choosing the song of the same name (which is synonymous with his wrestling career) to champion him to the ring.

Though he used it for his first entrance to the cage at UFC 203, it was his second event in 2018 that drew a volcanic response.

With the event residing in the man's hometown of Chicago, a hero's welcome was expected. However, when Cult of Personality blared through the speaker system and a confident Punk waltzed down to ringside, the atmosphere was palpable.

He would go on to lose for the second time in two fights, but for a few minutes the Chicago home squad fully believed their man could achieve his dream of a UFC win.
