10 Lowest Points Of Daniel Bryan’s WWE Title Reign
4. Extreme Rules
Daniel Bryan is a great wrestler. Yes, he's been in a great brawl or two, but he's a great WRESTLER. Thus, the idea that he was in a no-disqualification brawl with Kane at Extreme Rules felt a bit outside of his realm of expertise and not the best showcase of his talents. For as much as Daniel Bryan's feud for the past year was paint-by-numbers Austin versus McMahon, there was absolutely no need to push the feud into the realm of wacky brawls involving forklifts and pallets. WWE hasn't had a pure wrestler on top of the company since Chris Benoit. Kurt Angle was fast to adopt to the idea of having to be a well-rounded character, but there's something about having a nuts and bolts pro wrestler at the helm of the company that can be advantageous in an Extreme Rules situation. If Daniel Bryan stipulated that he dared Kane to wrestle him man to man without weapons (though weapons were legal), that would have made for an awesome match. Big man versus little man, little man fighting with so much heart that the big man grabs a weapon to put the little man down. Daniel Bryan using the kendo stick with the Yes Lock at the finish would have been so much more powerful in this instance.
