10 Major Mistakes WWE Has Made In 2021
4. Randy Orton Beats The Fiend At WrestleMania 37
Did WWE ever care about The Fiend? Following his debut at SummerSlam 2019, it seems that WWE creative systematically tried to destroy every single piece of credibility that this character had. Hell In A Cell 2019, Super-Showdown 2020, and it all culminated at WrestleMania 37.
From October 2020 through to April 2021, The Fiend did nothing but feud with Randy Orton. There was a Firefly Inferno match, an Alexa Bliss/Randy Orton match and then a reincarnation of this character on the Grandest Stage Of The All. This was to be Bray Wyatt's crowning moment.
Nope!
Instead, through spooky shenanigans, Orton pinned The Fiend after a single RKO, essentially squashing Wyatt at WrestleMania. In what world was this a good decision? The Fiend was one of the hottest acts in the company. He sold an incredible amount of merch and was featured heavily on a lot of marketing for the company. To have him lose like this is just insulting.
Wyatt went nowhere after this match. He had one promo on the RAW after WrestleMania and that was it. Bray Wyatt was released from WWE in July 2021 and has never been referenced on WWE since.
What an utter waste.
