10 Major Mistakes WWE Has Made In 2021

2. Reacting To AEW

While this may be a subjective take, it's hard not to see WWE competing with AEW. The prime example of this was SummerSlam. Following the debut of CM Punk and the imminent arrival of Bryan Danielson, WWE loaded the Biggest Party Of The Summer with two huge returns.

Becky Lynch and Brock Lesnar both debuted at SummerSlam and it has seemingly used up all of the surprise's WWE have left in the chamber. Goldberg has already come back, as has John Cena. There's no one left for WWE to churn out in order to pop a rating.

The debuts at SummerSlam really emphasised how much WWE relies on former stars, as did the card itself. Where do WWE go from here?

The reactionary decisions from WWE has shown that they cannot make new stars and are choosing to bring in part-timers constantly. In order for the main roster to change, they need to be looking to the future. Put more emphasis on stars like Ricochet, Keith Lee and Cesaro rather than trying to draw eyes away from AEW with part-time returns.
