10 Major Problems WWE Faces After SummerSlam 2017
7. Enzo’s Next Step
Speaking of break ups, the Enzo and Cass split has done zero favors for either talent. While McMahon clearly had Cass pegged as a future main eventer, it simply wasn’t time yet for the young giant to betray his little buddy. The popular team still had mileage; hell, they hadn’t even won the Raw Tag Team Championship yet.
Sacrificing a current hot commodity for a future solo act was pure impatience by McMahon. Cass doesn’t have the charisma or in-ring ability to carry his own yet, and Enzo has become a mouthy punching bag. Cass already destroyed his ex-partner at WWE Great Balls of Fire, and he’ll most likely slay Big Show at SummerSlam. Once he moves on to either the main event scene or Intercontinental Championship, what will become of Enzo?
The realest guy in the room can’t compete with the other titans on Raw. A full-time tag team with Big Show is only a short-term solution because the veteran giant is quickly winding down his career. A jump to 205Live could add some much-needed personality and star power, but Enzo risks carrying the stigma of the cruiserweight-label. Plus, the plug could be pulled on that division at any time.
