10 Match Star Ratings For WWE Survivor Series 2019

3. 5-on-5-on-5 Men's Survivor Series Match

Roman Reigns Keith Lee

You will not find a more accurate illustration of WWE in 2019 than this match.

You will not find a more drastic contrast between the immense talent of the roster and the asinine, throwaway approach to booking. You will not find more convincing evidence of the extent to which AEW has sh*t WWE right up.

This was pulsating, breathless, exceptionally well-worked, and that is all the more impressive given the cumbersome and complex moving parts of it. A logistical nightmare for agents somehow manifested as a wildly entertaining, insanely action-packed dream match at its best.

The best of it saw Chad Gable - who doesn't deserve to be named Shorty G, especially in light of his performance here - create an appetite for a Best-of-21 series with Matt Riddle in a scintillating, beautifully legitimate exchange. A bang-up-for-it Ricochet looked razor-sharp. Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre seemed intent on levelling up to their more acclaimed NXT opponents with a pair of powerhouse performances. And most famously - iconically, even - Keith Lee looked WrestleMania-headliner-ready in a, yes, positively glorious closing stretch with Roman Reigns. This was unbelievable. Everything he and a superb Roman did came off incredibly big-time. The drama engineered was next-level. WWE made a star here, but then, we've been here before.

As for the worst?

WALTER was jobbed out within minutes.

WALTER.

The intricacy of his wider story, and the aura built as a result, was rubbed under Vince's shoe like it was a smear of dog sh*t, and not a hugely impressive feat of self-preservation and myhological world-building.

The next time Pete Dunne huffs or Trent Seven gives it the obnoxious single spaced capital letters tweet, just remember that not only does WWE not care about the health of the British scene, they don't even give half a f*ck about their OWN United Kingdom Champion.

Star Rating: ★★★★¼
