Evolution is a mystery and, in the case of Dave Batista and Ric Flair, so is their undeniable chemistry. On the surface, 'The Animal' and 'The Nature Boy' couldn't be more different; however, the rapport between Big Dave and Naitch was blatantly evident for all to see.

Initially, their relationship began when Flair started to accompany Batista to ringside (much like he did for Triple H at the time). That relationship evolved in spectacular fashion at Armageddon 2003, when the pair walked the aisle as surprise entrants into the Tag Team Turmoil match for the WWE Tag Team Championships.

Having only teamed once before - a losing effort to Jericho and Shawn Michaels on Raw a month prior - the title win came totally out of the blue. Nevertheless, it was a stroke of genius and, by the end of the night, every member of Evolution was dripping with gold.

With Dave and Ric holding the Tag Team Titles, all of a sudden the tag straps meant something and the titles were a big deal again. The mix of youthful exuberance with wily veteran instinct made for a successful team and they held the titles for 92 days over the course of two reigns.
