10 Missed Opportunities In Brock Lesnar’s WWE Career

4. A Match With Shawn Michaels

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3L1Y2X6WeMg This is up there in terms of greatest potential dream matches that never happened. It's really a shame that they never had a match because Michaels is arguably the best in-ring performer ever and a fantastic underdog, while Lesnar is such a talented bully type of heel that they no doubt would have produced phenomenal matches together. Blame the 2002 brand extension for this match never happening. When Michaels returned to the ring at that time, he was a Raw guy while Lesnar appeared on the Smackdown brand. In the first couple of years of the brand extension, Raw guys and Smackdown guys didn't really interact aside from the Royal Rumble match. If Lesnar was still on the roster after WrestleManiaXX, they likely would have had a great feud with a number of amazing matches. Lesnar has had phenomenal matches with smaller wrestlers like Eddie Guerrero and CM Punk, so there's no doubt in my mind that he could do the same thing with Michaels. A few years ago, WWE used Michaels in Lesnar's feud with Triple H as a way to put over Lesnar as an unmerciful jerk. Sadly, by that point Michaels had retired so they never had a proper match. Michaels looks set to stay retired, meaning this one will likely never happen.
