10 Misused WWE Wrestlers Who Got Released And STILL Struggled
5. Rusev
It seems that Rusev Day might finally be over.
After this incredibly popular wrestler was dropped from his long-term employer in 2020, fans rejoiced. They had been waiting for the Bulgarian Brute to break out into another promotion and finally get the push that he deserved, and now that seemed like a certainty. Even Jim Ross claimed that AEW's top priority following this departure should be singing the former United States Champion, showing that many people saw his potential.
When he finally made his way to All Elite, viewers were confused and disappointed as he debuted in a weird angle as Kip Sabian's 'Best Man'. Many people planned to give this the benefit of the doubt and hoped that soon Miro would soon be crushing his opponents and connecting with the fans - however many there were. Sadly, that hasn't been the case, as he's tottered around in irrelevant storylines with no noteworthy matches or feuds.
Although WWE treated him poorly, they at least put him in the spotlight, thus far in AEW, he seems like just another body. Fans are still desperate to see him climb the card before it's too late, but only time will tell.
