10 Most Believable Performers In WWE Today

7. The Miz

The Miz, much like Alexa Bliss, is a career heel - so perfect in the role that a turn simply would not work.

He isn't the most believable performer between the ropes. Daniel Bryan wasn't far off in his assessment, on that infamous August 23, 2016 Talking Smack segment, in which he proclaimed that The Miz embodied the "soft WWE style". And yet, The Miz has mastered his smug, conniving character to such a fabulous extent that he doesn't need to perform death-defying moves to become relevant. He has masterfully occupied the space between them. He makes you care by avoiding offence rather than taking it, recovering a nuance mostly lost in the wrestling world elsewhere.

On that excellent segment, The Miz unleashed a torrent of built-up frustration. Almost impossible to transcribe here - the man worked himself up into such a state that he was all over the place - it was as if he was telling off the wrestling media, for fawning over the internet darlings he had eclipsed in 2016, as much as he was remonstrating with Bryan.

You can buy what The Miz sells because as his tearful promo attested, he legitimately believes his vision of pro wrestling is the best. If 2016 is any indication, it's hard to argue with.
