2. Austin And Triple H Destroy Lita
WWE have never been shy of depicting man-on-woman violence throughout their history, although that aspect has thankfully been toned down these days.
One of the most shocking examples came at the end of a 2001 Raw, in which the 'Two Man Power Trip' (the recently aligned super-team of Triple H and Stone Cold) utterly brutalised Lita in the middle of the ring.
Having lost a mixed tag match against Team Xtreme - after Lita pinned Stephanie McMahon - the heels exercised revenge to a brutal degree. The most disturbing part saw Lita crawl desperately atop boyfriend Matt Hardy to protect him, only for Austin to rain down numerous, thunderous chair shots on her exposed back and legs.
Admittedly, the whole point of the segment was to turn the crowd against Austin, who had been cheered relentlessly despite turning heel in the main event of WrestleMania X-Seven. However, there was a definite feeling that WWF crossed a line here, and it sent Raw off the air in bleak, disturbing fashion.
