10 Most Blatant Times WWE Tried To Rewrite Its Own History

2. The Ultimate Rewrite

One of the most popular performers of the late '80s and early '90s, The Ultimate Warrior captivated fans with his size and power. He even beat Hulk Hogan for the WWF Championship at WrestleMania VI.

Then there was all the other stuff.

The backstage behaviour, the ego, the hateful comments made during his right-wing speaking days. In short, it's no surprise that WWE can't decide how they feel about him.

In 2005, the company released The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior, a DVD that portrayed the performer in an extremely negative light.

This is a far cry from how Warrior is presented today, as WWE basically see him as a saint. He's even got his own Hall of Fame award named after him.

Basically, the Ultimate Warrior needed to die for this to happen. He'd managed to get back into the company's good graces before his passing in 2014 to the point where they completely changed their tune about him.

Their presentation of him now is worlds apart from the Self-Destruction DVD with performers like Triple H holding completely different opinions on the man depending on the time frame.

See, told you he couldn't be trusted.
