10 Most Brutal WCW Matches Ever

10. Cactus Jack & Maxx Payne VS Nasty Boys (Spring Stampede 1994)

When wrestling fans of a certain age think about the Nasty Boys, they don't think about anything that should be praised in any way. They were best known for their time in the WWF, but that's also the company that didn't allow them to do much outside of short, televised matches in a sterilized environment. WCW usually focused on a small handful of their top-tier wrestlers, and pretty much let the rest of their roster fend for themselves, doing whatever they wanted. The Nasty Boys took advantage of that, and they were able to participate in longer, weapons-filled brawls during their time with WCW. They loved to hand out beatings, but they could take them, as well, and when paired with the right opponents, that could make for a fun match. What helped to set this match apart is that you really believed the two teams hated each other. It didn't come across as a "normal" match. They went bell-to-bell, using the Street Fight gimmick to their advantage, fighting all over the arena and using any weapon they could get their hands on. Jerry Sags doesn't even bother to flatten and "fold" a steel chair before he wallops Jack and Payne with it. It was ahead of its time, predating the real rise of ECW, where matches like this would become a big part of North American wrestling. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3RgOfxgihM If you want to see men get beaten with pipes, shovels, pool cues, tables and more, this is the match for you. If you want to see Cactus wrestle in a stiff brawl only one month removed from having his ear ripped off during a match in Germany, this is for you. This match was much more entertaining than it should have been.
